Roronoa Zoro is the right-hand man of Monkey D. Luffy and the first member to join the Straw Hat Pirates and the upcoming world’s strongest swordsman, a title currently held by Dracule Mihawk. Known for his intense discipline, loyalty & unmatched swordsmanship. After the Wano arc, he is considered Yonko-level crew material.

Rob Lucci on the other hand was first introduced as a shipwright in Water 7 but was later revealed to be the most feared assassin in CP9 (the World Government’s covert assassination unit). After the events of Enies Lobby where he was defeated by Luffy. He returned as a CP0 agent—the elite intelligence force directly under the Celestial Dragons. Lucci is cold, calculative known for his ruthless efficiency and combat strength particularly within government operations. His reputation is tied more to stealth and assassination than open battle though he has proven to be a powerhouse.

Why Zoro is better than Lucci

When comparing Zoro and Lucci based on their feats the gap becomes clear as Zoro has consistently taken on much stronger opponents especially in the New World while Lucci despite improving still lags behind in the top tier wins. Zoro’s biggest victory is his defeat of King a Lunarian and Kaido’s right hand man, someone with insane durability and power. That win alone places Zoro on a level where only the strongest commanders and future Yonko contenders exist.

He also posses Enma a blade that forces him to control and release large amounts of Haki and he’s shown both Advanced Armament and Conqueror’s Haki During his fight with Kaido Zoro even left a scar something few have done Lucci on the other hand has reappeared stronger with an awakened Zoan form and can be seen in clash with Gear 5 Luffy during the Egghead arc. While that shows growth, Lucci hasn’t beaten any top commanders or characters close to Yonko level. His biggest fight win was against weaker foes or off panel opponents. So Zoro’s track record clearly shows a higher ceiling more experience in elite-level battles and greater mastery over Haki and combat overall.

Who would Win a Fight If Zoro vs Lucci happen

In a 1vs1 fight between Zoro and Lucci every aspect of their combat style plays a major role. Lucci is extremely fast using Soru and his awakened Zoan form to dash through opponents at lightning speed.

Zoro’s combat instinct, precision, raw power keep him firmly grounded in high level swordsmanship. Lucci’s speed advantage allows him to surprise opponents with rapid movements and sudden blows but speed alone doesn’t win fights especially against someone who has fought the likes of King and Kaido. Although Zoro does not use flashy teleportation techniques but his reaction speed is incredibly high In fact during his fight with King, he was able to read high speed aerial attacks from a Lunarian while under extreme pressure. In terms of Haki again he clearly shows the upper hand. The Advanced Armament Haki can coat his blades in Conqueror’s Haki and even uses the cursed sword Enma, which forces him to push out more Haki in every swing. Lucci while powerful has not shown the same depth of Haki mastery especially in terms of offense, his abilities focus more on speed, brute strength and regeneration*(thanks to his awakened zoan form) While that gives him durability Zoro is known for cutting through even the toughest bodies including Kaido’s dragon scales and King’s Lunarian defenses. He also has a major edge in endurance while Lucci has a dangerous close-range combat style and can launch devastating attacks like Rokuogan, Zoro has been seen taking massive injuries and continuing to fight since the start of the series from surviving Mihawk’s slash to tanking Kaido’s attacks. Zoro’s willpower alone gives him a frightening edge in drawn-out fights.

Technically speaking once Zoro adapts to Lucci’s speed — which he has proven capable of doing in Egghead — he controls the fight with sheer destructive power and superior Haki.

Now speaking of the latest events in the manga and anime— Zoro finally ends this debate battle with Lucci during their fight on Egghead Island. Lucci uses his full awakened form and tries to overwhelm Zoro with speed and power but he calmly handles the attacks and counters with a powerful finishing move called Spotted Leopard Hahava Hunt. This direct sword strike defeats Lucci and puts an end to the battle clearly giving us the winner.

This isn’t just a win, its a dominant statement that Zoro had surpassed the CP0 assassin both in technique and power. So if we combine technical analysis with the official fight result there’s no doubt Zoro is a clear cut winner. He has the tools, the mindset, the discipline and now the confirmed victory to prove it.
