Every season, new stuff comes out and most of it either fades out or feels like something you’ve already seen but this summer, you got covered with best Top 5 unforgettable picksm. There are a few shows that actually hit. I’m not talking about the usual “Top most anticipated blah blah” . I mean the ones I’d genuinely put my time to. Stuff with punch, out of the world vibes, just straight to hell fun, crazy storyline. Here are 5 anime I’m actually excited about this summer and where you must actually spend your time on.
1. Sakamoto Days

No bluff— everyone’s talking about this and this action packed comedy defenitely deserves the top spot. There’s no real debate here. Imagining it sounds crazy wild: ex-hitman turned dad trying to live a quiet life but chaos keeps showing at his doorsteps. What makes it land is how it balances insane action with moments that are just… oddly $%& ughh wholesome? Like one minute he’s flipping enemies through shelves, the next he’s worrying about his store’s bento prices. Part 2 drops this summer and from what I’ve seen and observed, they’ve seriously pushed the level of animation. Moreover the story’s digging deeper into the underground assassin network and the Slur/X mystery. It’s fastfun and surprisingly emotional at times. If you are skipping this, you’re defenitely missing the anime that’s owning the best anime summer 2025 title.
2. The Summer Hikaru Died
This psychological horror, mysterycreepy, subtle feels like it’s gonna hurt. It’s that unsettling small town horror where your best friend might not be your best friend anymore. This one is not for the casual “need something light before bed” crowd. It’s eerie quiet. The one messes with your head. I almost didn’t watch it because the title sounds like some melodramatic emo thing but damn that thought, it’s way deeper than that. What if you’ve got a best friend who maybe… isn’t human anymore? Ironically they’re still acting like your friend? creepy you know, but not in a jumpscare way. it’s slow psychological horror that builds this sick feeling in your gut. The setting’s rural, isolated every scene has this calm tension like something’s off but you can’t point it out. One of those shows that sneaks up on you emotionally. Quiet horrific and a weirdly beautiful atmosphere. If you’re in the mood for something that lingers long after the credits roll then this should be your pick.
3. Gachiakuta

Think grungy post-apocalyptic mess meets raw street fights. Gritty, fast and dripping with attitude. This one’s got that underdog with a grudge energy and it pulls you in fast. Gachiakuta dropped into the anime world like a punch to the face, no build-up. First episode in and you already know this isn’t your average shonen and the one actually not to be missed. The action scenes go hard & the vibe reminds me of early Tokyo Ghoul mixed with Dorohedoro. Although its still early but Gachiakuta has that it factor. Definitely one to watch before it blows up. That raw, dirty, chaotic art style splits the world literally. The rich float above the trash (classic metaphor, but done well) and the “outsiders” get dumped below into a pit full of monsters and junk. Rudo, the MC gets framed and tossed down there & our bro is pissed. But not in a try hard way – it feels he earned it. Angry, confused and trying to figure out how not to die every five minutes makes you stick to this show.
4. Grand Blue Dreaming (Season 2)
We put Grand Blue Dreaming at number 4 because it’s the perfect palate cleanser in a lineup that’s otherwise heavy on action, horror and deep world-building.Sometimes, you just need an anime that doesn’t ask you to overthink. No cryptic backstories just dumb college dudes doing dumb college things with extreme commitment. And that’s exactly what Grand Blue delivers. I mean that in the best way possible. If you’re still looking for plot or deep emotional arcs just scroll to the next. But if you want to laugh so hard you forget your own name, this is your pick. The best Comedy Anime show of this Summers. Season 1 was already unhinged— college kids, diving club, way too much booze & 0 shame. Season 2 – Same recipe plus more madness. Lori and the gang are back within five minutes you’re either wheezing or wondering what the hell you just watched (probably both if you ask me). But underneath all the screaming and ridiculous gags there’s something oddly wholesome here. Friendships that feel real, dumb moments that turn into memories. Summer vibes fit perfectly into this anime form with abs, alcohol & absolutely no dignity.
5. Bullet/Bullet

Bullet/Bullet is at last spot not because it’s weaker but because it’s still unproven. It’s the only one with least known so we’re going off vibes with director’s past work. But make no mistake—last doesn’t mean least here. Barely anyone’s talking about it yet but I’m calling it now: it’s got potential to blow up. Why? Two reasons.
- First, it’s an original story not adapted from a manga which means you’ve got no spoilers, no roadmap and everything feels fresh.
- It’s directed by Sunghoo Park. Yes, the guy who did Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 and God of High School. So yeah, action is basically guaranteed to be clean.
The setup is post-apocalyptic — world gone to hell, everything’s grey and broken and we’re following this kid named Gear who takes on shady jobs with his crew. Nothing we haven’t seen before but it’s got that sleek, cinematic energy for sure. There’s one mysterious girl that shows up and flips the whole thing on its head. Right now, it feels like the calm before a really good storm. If you want to be the person who says “I was watching it before it got big” this is your shot. Maybe It could be the one we’re all obsessing over by the end of the season.
Above is the list of top five anime that aren’t just “top rated” but genuinely worth your time depending on what mood you’re chasing this summer. We’ve got a little bit of everything from Action and assassins to laught and curosity. A mix of shonen action, psychological horror, dystopian survival, dumb comedy and finally a sci-fi mystery because honestly summer aren’t meant to be stick with one vibe. Some days you want to scream with a fight scene others you just want to laugh at drunk college kids doing backflips off a pier. The point is don’t just waste your time to finish the ones because they’re popular. Go with what clicks. And if any of these hit right, you will know from the first episode.
